Warriors Star Discloses Reason for Free Agency Departure
On "Truth & Basketball With George Karl," Gary Payton discussed the reasons for his free-agent switch from the Golden State Warriors to the Portland Trail Blazers.
One of the greatest NBA dynasties in history is the Golden State Warriors.
They defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to claim the title this past season.
Gary Payton II, who played in 71 regular-season games and averaged 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game, was one of their greatest role players this past season.
Payton, though, departed the group in a free agent signing to join the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Warriors have advanced to the NBA Finals in six of the previous eight seasons, while the Trail Blazers failed to qualify for the playoffs last year.
