Navy commission suggests renaming vessel that celebrates Confederate triumph

A panel has recommended that the Navy change the name of a guided-missile cruiser that celebrates a Confederate military victory.
On Tuesday, the commission established to rename bases named after Confederate leaders released the third and final part of its report
Which included a recommendation that the Navy change the names of the USS Chancellorsville
A Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, and the USNS Maury, an oceanographic survey ship.
Commission members told reporters that the Navy had renamed around 20 ships while they were still in service.
